The Vindolanda Trusts understands how important it is that young people from all backgrounds have access to archaeology and history. Volunteering on an archaeological excavation is not only great fun, but also a way to learn transferable skills which you will be able to use in further education and even in the workplace.
To make it easier and more accessible for young people to participate in the Vindolanda Excavations, the Trust and its partners offer several bursaries schemes every year.
Click the boxes below to explore what each bursary offers and find out which one is the right one for you. Please only apply for the bursary that is right for your circumstances.
All applications for the 2023 excavation are now open and will close on the 31st January. You will be able to apply from the pages below.
We look forward to meeting you!
