Codley Gate House & Cottage

Making The Most of Your Stay and Stay with Us!

We know that carrying out your own invasion of Hadrian's Wall can be a time intensive but unforgettable experience. We encourage all our friends to give themselves sufficient time to explore and conquer this part of the world. This is why we like to provide a list of local accommodation providers so you don't need to be rushed and can truly immerse yourself in the spectacular landscape of the Northumberland National Park.

Situated in a peaceful valley at the confluence of two streams, this site would have been sacred to the Romans and is still a very special place today. With the ramparts of the fort guarding the farm yard to the west and the only Roman milestone left standing intact in its original position nearby, few properties in Britain can have so many traces of Rome around them.

Codley Gate House (Sleeps 8)

The magnificent four bedroom Codley Gate farmhouse is now available to rent for the perfect family holiday home. The house sleeps up to 8 people and has a stunning kitchen, cosy lounge, reading room, boot & utility room and four bedrooms (including one which is en-suite). Outside to the rear of the property is a private garden, the perfect place to unwind and relax. Dogs (2 max) are welcome at this property.

Video of Codley Gate House is coming soon!

The house is owned by the Vindolanda Charitable Trust and all proceeds from the rental directly supports the archaeological research programme at Vindolanda.

To find out more contact us on 01434344277 or you can book/check availability at Holiday Cottages.

Codley Gate Cottage (Sleeps 6)

The cottage at Codley Gate Farm has recently been converted and provides superbly appointed 5 star holiday accommodation. There is a fabulous well-equipped spacious dining kitchen, a cosy sitting room with an inglenook style fireplace and three double bedrooms (one downstairs), each with their own luxury en-suite bathroom. Lovely country walks can be enjoyed directly from the cottage.  Dogs (2 max) are welcome at this property.

The cottage is owned by the Vindolanda Charitable Trust and all proceeds from the rental directly supports the archaeological research programme at Vindolanda.
