What's On Writing Tablet - Site Tours Thursdays in August at 3pm Our guided tours are led by our fantastic volunteer guides and begin at the West Gate (the main visitor entrance) in the courtyard. Lasting around 45 minutes, the tour explores some of the key highlights of the site. Using the world-famous Vindolanda Writing Tablets as a thread, the tour introduces the story of Vindolanda and the people who once lived here. Suitable for both adults and children, tours are included with admission and there’s no need to book - simply join us at the West Gate.
