Opening Times

Roman Army Museum & Roman Vindolanda Fort & Museum  are open daily from 10am until 5pm (last admission 4pm).

WINTER OPENING FROM 31st OCTOBER

Roman Vindolanda Fort & Museum will be open daily from 31st October- 3rd January 9:30am until 4pm (last admission 3pm).

Vindolanda will be open SITE ONLY 4th January 2023 to 10th February 2023. Please purchase your site only tickets on arrival.

Roman Army Museum will be closed. (Please contact us if you wish to enquire about bringing a school group during this time).

Both Vindolanda Fort & Museum & Roman Army Museum will be fully open for the 2023 season on 11th February 2023.

From 12th February Roman Vindolanda Fort & Museum is fully open from 10am until 5:00pm (last admission 4pm)

We suggest you allow at least 2 hours for a visit to Vindolanda. Some our of visitors can happily stay for 4+ hours so please leave yourselves enough time to explore.

Roman Army Museum (CA8 7JB)

From 12th February the Roman Army Museum is fully open from 10am until 5:00pm (last admission 4pm).

We estimated the average visit to the Roman Army Museum to be 1.5 hours. This is an all indoors museum looking at the life of Roman soldiers on Hadrian's Wall.

Our Cafes are for ticket holders. We offer a range of refreshments with seating both indoors and outside.
