Vindolanda Wood Desk Clock

Have a piece of history

A unique hand crafted desk clock made from 2,000 year old oak.

Some of the larger wooden rafts, planks and beams uncovered during the excavation of the deep anaerobic layers at Vindolanda are not conservable and after recording these pieces they would normally be re-used as part of the backfill of the site.

Now local craftsman David Wayper has been able to created a bespoke range of Vindolanda souvenirs which are made using some of this 2,000 year old oak.  All the proceeds from the sale of these items goes directly back to supporting the ongoing excavation programme.

The desk clock is approx 6cm wide and 7.5cm tall.
