Roman Vindolanda

Head through the beautifully lit gardens and up to the fort highlighting some of Vindolanda's history and learning about life on the frontier. Key highlights are the fireball and the gardens looking magical, the replica sections of Hadrian's Wall and the early bath house.

For this festive light tour we encourage you to wear your favourite holiday jumper, hat and/or any other festive accessories - especially any that light up! Please bring along a torch.

Tours will start outside in the museum gardens at 3.45pm by the Fireball.

  • This event is free with admission to the site.
  • Last admission to the site is 3pm please arrive before this to ensure entry and give yourself time to look around the museum and site first. 
  • Parking at the Westgate (our main admission building) is the best as we will end the tour on site.
