In the Vindolanda Activity Centre, join Dr Peter Holmes one of the world's leading experts on ancient lip-blown instruments and Letty Stott, one of the UK's most exciting and versatile French horn players, to learn about the ancient mouthpiece found at Vindolanda in 2022. What instrument might it have belonged to and how can we tell this? Handle the 3D printed replica created by Middlesex University and hear the sound it might have made. 

You will also be able to see the mouthpiece on display in the recent finds case inside the Vindolanda Museum.
