Did you see our digital 3D-models in our online exhibition: Digging up memories - making connections?

With the use of a 3D printer we are able to have these replica artefacts available for people to handle and engage with. These are several wooden artefacts from our collection, you will be able to see the some of the real artefacts in the museum. Learn about what it takes to digitise our wooden artefacts what information we keep and how we preserve them for the public and researchers to see.

For families we will have a wooden artefact trail around the museum to help you connect the 3D models with the real artefacts with fun facts and questions.

27th -29th October 11am- 3pm at Roman Vindolanda Activity Centre

If you would like to take a look at our online digital exhibition before your visit you can see it here. It takes a look at what thoughts and memories are brought up by the artefacts we find. The project asked members of The Vindolanda Trust team to pick their favourite wooden object in the museum and tell us about the memories it brought back.
