Events Events Life at a Roman Camp Roman tents were critical for the Roman army as they campaigned across the empire. Reenactors and genuine artefacts give us a glimpse into the life of the Roman soldier on the move. Join us for: a reconstruction of a Roman tent, Roman reenactors, a demonstration of Roman camp food and a look at the diets of Roman soldiers on the frontier, an opportunity to see original wooden artefacts from the Vindolanda collection which aren’t usually on display and to learn more about how they can help us to understand more about the people who made and used them. There will be social distancing in place at this event. Booking for this event has now closed.
