Hedley Centre Accommodation for Excavators
The Hedley Centre is not only the most tranquil place in Northumberland to hold a small and intimate rural conference but is also the building where we house some of our excavators across the summer months while they dig with us. The beautiful stone building was originally the coach house for Chesterholm.
On the first floor the Hedley contains en suite bedrooms – all twins/double. All rooms have been finished to a very high standard and all have a small safety deposit box per person, a desk area, wifi internet access, an en-suite shower room and a daily replenished hospitality tray with coffee and teas. A vending machine containing snacks and cold drinks is located in the corridor leading to the bedrooms. Downstairs the facilities include a secure boot room, a communal area including an open plan lounge (with large flat screen TV and DVD player) and a dining room for residents for breakfast and evening meals. Outside you will find a large private patio area with tables and chairs. The Hedley Centre has a designated and gated car park for the use of residents and this is situated directly behind the building.
Accommodation at the Hedley Centre is provided on a full board basis. All food is freshly cooked and vegetarian options will always be offered.
Self service from the breakfast buffet: Fruit juice, tea, coffee, cereal, bacon, eggs, baked beans, mushrooms or tomato brown or white toast/ butter, jam or marmalade.
Packed Lunch (Monday to Friday):
Big bap with various fillings.
Fresh fruit & crisps

Excavations run from Monday to Friday each week and Hedley Centre residents will need to arrive, between 3 pm and 5 pm on the Sunday before they start excavating. A Sunday evening meal will be provided. During your two week stay, a cooked and continental breakfast is provided every day, a pack lunch is provided each day that you are on the excavations and a three course meal is served each evening, except for Saturday when residents are encouraged to enjoy either an early tea in the museum coffee shop or an evening meal in one of the local pubs or restaurants. On the last Friday of your stay residents will be provided with breakfast and a packed lunch and will be expected to vacate their rooms before joining the last day of excavations.
To stay in the Hedley Centre on the basis described above will cost you £700 per period per person (12 days including excavation fees). Please note that all rooms are twin shared rooms and you will allocated a same sex room mate unless you indicate on your booking form that there is someone you would like to share with.
At the end of your stay you can opt to stay the Friday night in the Centre on a Bed and Breakfast basis for an additional £35.00
If you are staying for two consecutive periods you can book the middle Friday and Saturday nights on a Bed and Breakfast basis for £70 per weekend.
